Jönköping Fishing Fair Interviews 2 – How to Sell Jazz to Fishermen

There was thousands of visitors at the Jönköping fishing fair. So many that we were confident we would sell out our cd’s in no time. After Joona had played a beautiful intro and solo on the Hatch followed by my excellent bass solo, we were expecting to see a long queue to for cd’s and autographs.

But what?! Not single one on the sales desk? A catastrophe!

It seemed like they didn’t even realize what they were missing: The only record in the universe that combines these two worlds – jazz, and fly fishing – in a perfect harmony.

This wasn’t going to happen. Not to us. We were bound to make a difference. Go fishing. Make music. Make love. Buy the Jazz & Fly Fishing album “Slow walking water”.

Sold out!

I don’t know if this is good or bad, but all the signed Slow Walking Water CDs have been sold out. So if you have recently ordered your copy, or will do that, you will get an unsigned copy of the album. The music is the same, though!

There are two reasons for why signing cds is so difficult for a band like this:

1. Distance. We live in three different countries and sending cds over for signing purposes is very slow. We actually tried this, and after spending a fortune on the shipping fees, the package got lost somewhere in the post. Typical.

2. Fishing fever. We had a fantastic opportunity to sign albums last week when we all met in Sweden, but I suppose none of us had a slightest idea of doing that, since we were going fishing. And after the fishing we are now back to square one.

So, no signed cds at the moment. No worries – get your (unsigned) copy and come see one of our gigs or meet us down by the riverside. Just remember to bring a pen!

On the road again!

Greetings from the bus! We’re launching off the new season by taking the bus to some seatrout fishing in the west coast of sweden. We have a big tent, some food, and a huge pile of camera and fishing gear with us. Stay tuned!

Jönköping Fishing Fair Interviews 1 – Biggest Fish? Listen to Jazz?

Jazz & Fly Fishing was with Guideline at Sweden’s biggest fishing fair at Jönköpings Fiskemässa 2nd and 3rd of April.

We had three questions to ask from everybody:
1. What’s your biggest fish
2. Do you listen to Jazz?
3. Have you heard about Jazz & Fly Fishing

We got some pretty good answers. Check it out. Respect to the guy in red with a 115kg halibut. The pike with the czheck nymph is not bad either.

Be ready for part 2.

Fly Fishing is a Joke

Since we’re in the mood for jokes…

A film by Henry Harrison:

The thing about filming other people’s fish is that, as hip and exotic it might sound, you’re filming and not fishing. You just can’t do both well at the same time…

Having done some filming myself, I couldn’t agree more about what he says in the film.

April Jacket

Thanks everyone who contacted us about the new J&FF suit jacket! I can tell that the interest was much bigger than we expected! But yes, it was an april fools’ joke, although the jacket has actually been professionally designed for us jazz cats fishing with suits on. Who knows, with enough interest we could make it for real, so keep posting!
