New SC Competition Entry: Back in 2007(?)

Now this is some interesting stuff! Our good friends and colleagues at Frontsidefly.com sent us this video a couple of days ago. While it does show some very impressive Shadow Casting, the most interesting thing about this video is that the Frontside guys claim that it is from 2007(!) Now if this was true, it would mean that they were Shadow Casting at a very high level several years before we started developing our New, Improved Shadow Cast™.

This is of course impossible. The video is obviously a cleverly designed fake, but you have to give the Frontside guys credit for the serious effort they´ve made to make the video look like it´s from 2007. They´ve filmed it with an old camera, they´re wearing clothes that were considered high fashion in some circles back then, and they´ve even shaved their faces and retouched the pictures to achieve that baby face look. Impressive!

While none of these tricks fool us
, we´re still flabbergasted by their new cast, and welcome their spectacular contribution to the Shadow Cast competition.

PS!
Our friends over at Vak did a story on this whole controversy some days ago, Check it out here. It´s good.

See all the entries and post your own at The Shadow Cast Competition Page !
We’re still accepting entries today and tomorrow!

Arctic Char Video on Lars & Lars

Hi!

Lars Nilssen´s video from Savalen (the place where I filmed the huge schools of spawning arctic char you saw in this post) is out on VGTV now.

There is some J&FF material in there, too: a totally hysterical scene that our good friend Arne shot with his compact still camera. The scene features me catching a huge arctic char while shouting foul language in Norwegian with a very high pitched voice. This happened on one of J&FF´s expeditions above the arctic circle this summer.

Here´s a picture of one of the beautiful arctic char from Savalen:

Shadowmaster: The Song

Only eleven days to go until the Shadow Cast competition closes!

Just to remind you, the winner gets:

– Eternal Glory

– Guideline Fario 8’6” #6 – THE ULTIMATE SHADOW CAST ROD.

– The song “The Man I Want To Be” dedicated to him/her, written, performed and produced by J&FF.

And here, ladies and gentlemen, is  Fredrik himself in the middle of the making of the song (suffering of a sudden burst of creativity):

Fish…

…Sometimes the fish don’t bite, sometimes they do. Today it was very strange that nothing happened. After fishing for three hours without a single take, we went back to our cabin and had some food, drank coffee and slept for a while. Then we went home. Does it sound exiting? Well, it was a nice day after all, cold but sunny. Finally some peaceful hours!

Since I have no fish to show today, I´ll give you some strange random pics instead. They are all from this year. Take a close look, you will probably never see them again.

P.S  Next time there will be fish… or drums…

So far, no fish

Jazz master Per Oscar Nilsson is trying to catch something. So far the fishing sucks, lets see what the next hour will bring.

Live blog (almost)

View from the car… In twenty minutes we will start to fish. Three men in a very small boat, huge perch and pike in the lake. Will update this action blog every hour…

Nice Review in Jazznytt

Hi!

Here´s a review of Slow Walking Water from Norwegian jazz magazine Jazznytt.
I realize that this review could be a bit hard to understand for all you non-scandinavians out there. That´s why you should start learning a Scandinavian language straight away. It´s a highway to eternal happiness!!!

Here it is:
