Some Screenshots

Here you go. Some screenshots from some new video material, shot by Arne Mobakken and myself. Videos will start coming when autumn turns into winter. In August, Arne and I made a couple of really good fishing trips:  One to a newly discovered river high up in the mountains, and one to one of my… Read more »

Frantic Summer Days

Hi! In between fishing trips right now, trying to make the most out of the way-too-short summer above the arctic circle. As ususal, the fishing has had its ups and downs, with everything from huge hatches and big, steadily rising fish to weeks with gale force winds from the north and very crappy fishing. Expedition ahead!

It’s time for the highlight of the year, the JFF Nordic Expedition! As usual, we will be exploring unknown territories in secret places far north. We’ll be away from computers and blogs and stuff for a while, but stay tuned! Here are some goodies from the past years:

New video: Trout Slap

Me and Fred went seatrout fishing a couple of days ago. It was a very strange evening! Right after the trip and a couple of beers later Trout Slap was born. To be watched with a glass of well chilled rosé wine. Enjoy! Music: Whistling: Katson Autiota Hiekkarantaa by Veikko Samuli/Juha “Watt” Vainio/Katri Helena Bossa… Read more »

Silver bars and organ pipes

This week I was playing some gigs in old churches in Sweden. Nice, acoustics and beautiful buildings and surroundings. We played some folk tunes, classical themes and hymns, all arranged for a jazz trio. I of course brought my camera and took some photos along the way. When I got home I went fishing for… Read more »

New video: Focus

Here’s a short film from a trip a couple of weeks back. One man, one camera, one fish, one situation. Plus some experimenting with the out-of-focus shapes with different lenses. Music by Jazz & Fly Fishing. Enjoy! Focus from Jazz & Fly Fishing on Vimeo.

Big Mayflies, Big Trout and Big Horses

Ahhh. Sometimes, life above the arctic circle is just so… good. Sunny weather, green fields, snowcapped mountains, and huge amounts of Ephemera vulgata mayflies hatching. What more can you ask for? I only caught one single fish today, but it was a really good one, a 2,4 kg (5,3 lb) wild brown trout on… Read more »

Street Life

Still cold in southern Sweden and fly fishing has to wait. Me and Freddy are planning a fly tying session soon. The boxes need to be filled for the upcoming JFF adventures. There will be a trip to a secret location in Scandinavia in the summer and also some saltwater fishing for something else than… Read more »

Friday Jazz: Goran Kajfes "Sand Boogie"

Hellau! So far, J&FF´s Friday Jazz has presented music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, so I guess it´s about time we give you some contemporary sounds. In 2010, the brilliant Swedish trumpeter/composer Goran Kajfes released a great album called X/Y. The opening track, called Sand Boogie, is a real knockout: it has one of… Read more »

Stomach Flu in Gothenburg

Hellau! Just back from Gothenburg, where we recorded the soundtrack for our upcoming DVD (working title: Season 2 – F***ed for Life) and did some additional shooting – interviews and such. Despite Fredrik and me getting sick with some kind of stomach flu that we probably got from Joona (thanks, man!), we were highly productive… Read more »
