Urban Fly Fishing in Oslo Posted May 11, 2010 by by admin Urban trout – just another urban legend? No! Check this out: 18 Comments Tørrfluemoen May 11th, 2010 Jævlig bra Håvard. Mygglarver eller leptonymfer? Reply DraupneR May 11th, 2010 Really nice, cool to be able to fish trout so central and u got a fat one too 🙂 Peace Reply tapani May 11th, 2010 Well I knew that the fishing in Norway is good, but this is ridiculous… Is this really in the middle of Oslo? Reply tapani May 11th, 2010 Who´s the guy playing Pippi Langstrump in the end credits? Reply Håvard May 11th, 2010 Tørrfluemoen: A fluffy Hare´s Ear Nymph – size 14. The upper pond is full of a creature I believe is called Asellus – a small, gray, pre-historic looking crustacean. I guess that´s why the fish grow so fat… Tapani: Yes, it´s in the heart of Oslo allright! I discovered this place through some urban fly fishing experiments I did some years ago after reading a great article by Alf Rønneberg and Lars Nilssen about the fishing in central Oslo. I haven´t fished there for many years, and the fish seem to have grown since then… The Pippi Langstrump guy: I don´t know. He happened to be playing in the park, and I just really dug the combination of the Swedish lyrics and the English accent. He´s a pretty good musician, too… I also have to give credit to Roger Arntzen, bass player par excellence (In the Country, Chrome Hill, Ballrogg) and up-and-coming fly fisherman, who came with me on the first day and filmed the first part. I thanked him by mercilessly cutting him out of the film… Sorry, man! PS! I heard that some people have had trouble streaming the video. That´s because it is in 1080p HD, and it takes a while to buffer it. Let it load for a couple of minutes, and it should work just fine. It also works to turn down the quality to 720p – (bottom right on the player). Reply Fredrik May 11th, 2010 I really need to know who that Pippi longstocking guy is!! Who is it? Beautiful trout! Reply Sylvain May 11th, 2010 Håvard, Well done and great meeting you on Sunday! Generally, I like the blog and do hope that we can meet again for a concert or a fishing trip. Best, Sylvain Reply Staffan Lindstrøm May 11th, 2010 I’m struggling to get a name himself, he has played in many cities in Norway, I think he’s Welsh …. in the past he played with his daughter Reply Maritim May 11th, 2010 Og hvor lenge tror du det kommer til å være stor fisk i parken etter at du har fått utløsning for din P.R trang Håvar? Vi snakker om en liten dam med få men store individer, som er unaturlig bitevillige. Og dette midt i Oslo…. Say no more.. Here in Hannover there’s a good River where I caught beautiful Graylings and Trout right in the City as well. Not my ideal, but really Special memories. Cheers Reply Staffan Lindstrøm May 11th, 2010 Graylingfishing in a city?? 3 spots Lillehammer…….Elverum…..Konsvinger Reply olivier Houdayer May 12th, 2010 Hi, Just thanks you for your films and your music, very nice. Doesn’t change anything! (find on http://mouching.wordpress.com/) Olivier 23 years old, a French man in New Zealand for studying trouts and live a dream! (my poor pictures: http://picasaweb.google.fr/moucheur14/NZ2010#) Flyfishing, our way of live… Reply Joona May 12th, 2010 Beautiful fish Håvard! And the suit jacket is perfect camouflage for the urban trout! Reply Thomas May 14th, 2010 Hi, excuse my poor english,i was born in east germany and spent my childhood there … enjoyed much more russian lessons than english … Yes i’m a flyfisher and live still in Berlin and like the idea to go fishing .. in front of my home … but … if you call it “Urban Flyfishing” … please compare it with that: http://www.farioev.de/farioev_fische_gewaesser/bild153.html … fishing for “King Aspius” (“Aspius Aspius” in german called Rapfen) .. i’m so … envious. Thomas Reply Håvard May 14th, 2010 Hi Thomas! Now that´s some really urban fly fishing! Best – Håvard Reply Mattis! May 16th, 2010 Hei Håvard! Urban flyfishing??? Frognerparken er jo langt å landet!
