The big Polish internet fishing site jerkbait.pl has published a big interview with the JFF guys, and it is in English!
Kuba Standera: What is in Your opinion the link between the jazz and the flyfishing?
Håvard Stubø: The most important link is improvisation – or the ability to adapt to changing conditions. In jazz, you agree on certain principles and frameworks before you start to play, and then you go wherever the music takes you. As we all know, fly fishing is much the same: the fish never behave “like they should” – they are always suprising you, and the conditions are constantly changing. In fly fishing as in jazz, you have to be open-minded, present in the moment and stay focused if you want to succeed.
